Product Quality
The NEUSPEED biAXIS upper strut mount housing is conceived, designed by NEUSPEED R&D and precision CNC machined in the USA using aerospace billet aluminum alloy.Camber correction
Due to individual differences in manufacturing and vehicle assembly, MQB/MQB evo vehicles may have a maximum left-right difference of 0.5° in the camber angle when shipped from the factory. Differences in camber angle can cause uneven tire wear, but this problem was impossible to solve with the factory suspension. The NEUSPEED biAXIS upper strut mount allows you to precisely adjust the camber angle of the factory suspension by replacing the factory upper mount. It is also the perfect solution for winding and circuit users, and a must-have item for users who want to adjust the camber angle at their own discretion. Fixed camber plates cannot achieve this precise solution.Adjustment functions and effects
・ Camber angle adjustment: The camber angle can be adjusted from the factory position in the negative direction in the range of 0° to -1.4°. In measured values, the camber angle can be adjusted up to around -2.5° for MQB/MQB evo vehicles, and up to around -2.9° for GOLF8 R. This may vary depending on the spring (down value) and shock absorber used in combination.
・ Effect of camber angle adjustment: Negative camber, which tilts the suspension inward, increases the tire contact area during cornering, improving grip and reducing understeer. By adjusting the camber angle to the optimal value depending on the driving purpose and suspension setting, lateral stability is optimized and tire performance is maximized.
・ Caster angle correction: The design of the NEUSPEED biAXIS upper strut mount increases the caster angle by +0.7°. The increased caster angle improves directional stability, which is important when driving at high speeds, and the self-centering effect of the steering makes it much more stable when exiting high-speed corners. The increased caster angle also contributes to increasing the progressive camber gain, further improving tire contact during turn-in.
Progressive camber gain in full turns: As the steering approaches full lock, the suspension geometry increases the negative camber by -1.2°. This increases the negative camber on the outside wheel even more in tighter turns, increasing the tire contact patch for improved steering precision and tire grip.
